ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) gives every citizen a portable digital health ID. Kell BioTech is built to work with ABHA-linked records as part of India's digital health ecosystem.
Look up a donor or patient's health ID instead of re-collecting identity and history details every visit.
Donation and transfusion events can be associated with a patient's ABHA-linked health record for continuity of care.
Implements the ABHA creation, verification, and linking workflows covered under ABDM M1 — within blood bank donor and patient management.
ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) is a 14-digit health ID issued under India's Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). It's designed to let a person's health records — including donations, treatments, and lab tests — be referenced consistently across hospitals, labs, and blood banks without re-entering details every time.
As hospitals and diagnostic centres increasingly adopt ABDM-linked systems, blood banks that can't reference an ABHA ID become a disconnected step in an otherwise digital patient journey. Kell BioTech is built to fit into this ecosystem, complementing our eRaktKosh-compatible reporting and core Blood Bank Management Software.
The donor registration form includes an optional field to capture or link an ABHA ID at the time of registration, alongside standard donor details.
When a donor or patient creates or verifies their ABHA ID on the spot, the standard ABDM mobile-OTP or Aadhaar-based verification flow is used. Kell BioTech does not intercept or store OTPs or Aadhaar numbers — only the resulting linked ABHA ID is saved once verification is complete.
Linking a donor or patient's record to their ABHA ID requires their explicit consent, captured digitally at the time of registration or at any later visit.
Once linked, the ABHA ID is mapped to the donor's existing profile in Kell BioTech, connecting future donations to the same verified identity without duplicate entries.
Every ABHA linking action, consent capture, and profile update is logged with a timestamp and the staff member who performed it, for accountability and inspection readiness.
ABHA-related data is encrypted at rest and access-controlled by role — part of the same security framework covering the rest of the platform.
Is providing an ABHA ID mandatory for donors?
No, linking an ABHA ID is optional and donor-consent based; standard donor registration works with or without it.
Does Kell BioTech store Aadhaar numbers or OTPs?
No. Aadhaar-based or mobile-OTP verification for creating or verifying an ABHA ID happens through the standard ABDM verification flow — Kell BioTech only stores the resulting ABHA ID once verification is complete, not the OTP or Aadhaar number itself.
Can an existing donor profile be linked to ABHA later?
Yes, an ABHA ID can be linked to an existing donor profile at any future visit, with the donor's consent.
How is ABHA-related data secured?
It's encrypted at rest, access-controlled by role, and every linking action is recorded in an audit trail — part of the same security framework covering the rest of the platform.
Does Kell BioTech implement ABDM M1 functionality?
ABDM M1 covers ABHA creation, verification, and linking workflows. Kell BioTech implements these workflows — donors and patients can have an ABHA ID created, verified, or linked through the standard ABDM verification process within the blood bank registration flow.
